Peace of Mind
Peace of Mind is a website for caregivers of people living with dementia that I developed with classmates from my User Centered Design Class. We developed the website using the complete user-design process. First, we defined our design question, research questions, and target users. Then, we completed a competitor analysis, where we looked at similar products and identified their pros and cons and UX flaws. Next, we identified our stakeholders and conducted one-on-one interviews with our target population as well conducted a literature review on this field, given the difficulty in recruiting participants to discuss such a sensitive topic. Based on our research, we brainstormed solutions using IDEO's brainstorming methodology and we created mood boards, which are a compilation of images that represent what we want the user to feel when using our product. We also generated personas that pulled information from our research, which helped us make design decisions during the process.
Next, we moved on to the ideation and sketching phase, where we generated low-fidelity pen and paper prototypes of the website. We finalized our sketches and created functioning high-fidelity prototypes using Adobe XD.

Finally, we tested our prototypes and summarized all of our findings in a design spec document (see below).
